The sixth season of Canada’s Drag Race returned on Nov. 20 featuring three queens with East Coast connections. Karamilk, Mya Foxx, and Sami Landri will be competing to be crowned Canada’s next drag superstar. Originally hailing from Halifax, 25-year-old Karamilk has a background in acting and musical theatre, according to a news release from Crave. Karamilk is the drag daughter of Kimmy Couture from Season 3 of Canada’s Drag Race. She took home the crown in Ottawa’s Next Drag Superstar Season 1 and Absolut Empire’s Ball Season 4 and continues to perform between Ottawa and Toronto. Mya Foxx is a 31-year-old Inuk drag performer from Halifax. Foxx made her way onto the stage as a backup dancer for other queens and will be the first Nova Scotian on Canada’s drag race, said the release. She has competed in multiple competitions like the Halifax Garden Ball, Best of Halifax Awards, and the TV series Call Me Mother. Sami Landri is a 26-year-old Acadian queen from Moncton. “Sami is a major flag bearer for the Acadian drag scene and is considered a pioneer of New Brunswick drag,” said the release. Landri is also known for a virial TikTok video in which she says her pronouns are the syllables of the words Quebec and barbecue. Canada’s Drag Race streams Thursdays at 10 p.m. AT on Crave. Crave is owned by Bell Media, which also owns CTV Atlantic.
