CTV News Atlantic has been honoured with seven Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) Awards for the East Region. The annual RTDNA Awards recognize the best content in radio, television and digital journalism. The awards were announced at an event in Halifax Thursday night. Longtime CTV News Atlantic anchor and reporter Bruce Frisko, who has worked in the news broadcasting industry for 35 years, was also honoured Thursday with the RTDNA’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. “It’s a tremendous honour and frankly I was deeply touched and honoured when I heard about this. I’m so grateful to the company and mostly to all the viewers who keep us on the air,” said Frisko. In addition to reporting, Frisko has also co-anchored Atlantic Pulse on ASN, Live at 5, and the weekend edition of the CTV News at Six. He currently anchors the CTV News at 11:30. “I’ve worked for this company now for 30 years and I started in March of 1995, I came here with sweaty hands and a two-year contract, and here I am, it’s 30 years later, almost 31 years,” said Frisko about his time at CTV News.
