A group of 24 Bombardier workers will have to wait a bit longer to claim $50 million in lottery winnings after an additional claimant came forward seeking a part of the prize.

Members of the original group of claimants went to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. prize centre in downtown Toronto on Monday morning to claim the Lotto Max jackpot from a draw held on Friday.

Chris Dale, one of the supposed winners, said members of his group were disappointed but not surprised to learn another coworker is claiming part of the winnings, noting it will be difficult to work alongside that person in the future.

"This guy doesn't have a leg to stand on," he said.

It was revealed on the weekend that the winning Lotto Max ticket was purchased in the Toronto area. But OLG officials do not publicly reveal the exact location of the ticket purchase. The winners will have to provide that information as part of the ticket validation process.

The group of 24 travelled by subway to the OLG's Dundas Street West office, where they were interviewed to ensure they are all legitimate claimants. Outside the prize centre Monday morning, a 53-year-old Barrie, Ont. man said he intended to share his winnings with his children and family.

"We really got lucky," said the man, who found out about the group's apparent win on Sunday.

This is the second time in a month that a group lottery win has been contested. Nineteen Bell Canada call centre workers remain in a dispute over $50 million after their win was contested in early January.
