TORONTO - Producers of the new Canadian film "Act of Dishonour" are postponing its opening in Toronto this weekend due to the G20 summit.

The film's distributor, E1 Entertainment, says they're worried that downtown road closures will hamper efforts to see the drama at its sole screening location, the AMC Yonge and Dundas.

The new release date is July 9.

"Act of Dishonour" profiles so-called honour killings in Afghanistan and follows a bride-to-be as she's visited by a Canadian film crew in a remote northern village.

The film is directed by "Kandahar" star Nelofer Pazira, who grew up in Kabul and immigrated to New Brunswick in 1990.

Other arts venues affected by this weekend's summit include the Art Gallery of Ontario, which will close Friday afternoon through Sunday, and theatre performances of "Rock of Ages" and "Mamma Mia!"
