Michael Serapio

Michael Serapio is a National Correspondent for CTV News, covering the latest political news from CTV's parliamentary bureau in Ottawa. Known for his credible and insightful reporting, Serapio spent more than a decade as an anchor at CBC News Network, where he led coverage of significant national and international events, becoming the first Filipino-Canadian man to anchor a national newscast. He later joined CPAC as the network's English anchor, where he led coverage of live events and their nightly show, PrimeTime Politics. In February 2022, Serapio received a Canadian Screen Award for his work as anchor of a breaking news special covering the Ottawa convoy protest. His coverage of the federal election in April 2025 also earned him a nomination for Best National Anchor. Born in the Philippines and raised in Toronto, Serapio received an honours bachelor of journalism degree from Carleton University. He speaks English.
