Dwight Duncan was installed as the ninth Chancellor of the University of Windsor in 2025. He is a highly experienced leader with a record of accomplishments across the private, and public sectors. His work has taken him to the highest levels of business and government in Canada and across the world. He currently serves as Senior Advisor Investor Relations Canada, for the New York based law firm Bernstein, Litowitz, Berger and Grossmann LLP (BLB&G). Prior to joining BLB&G, Mr. Duncan was a Strategic Business Advisor with McMillan LLP and McMillan Vantage where he provided strategic business and public policy advice to a variety of clients across Canada. Prior to joining McMillan in 2013 Mr. Duncan had a distinguished 24-year career in the Ontario Legislature. He served as Deputy Premier, Minister of Finance, Chair of Management Board, Chair of Cabinet, Minister of Energy, Government House Leader and Opposition House Leader. He delivered six budgets, authoring major reforms to Ontario’s energy, tax, pension and insurance regimes. He played a pivotal role if formulating Ontario’s response to the recession of 2008 and initiated the plan to close coal fired electricity generation in the province. Mr. Duncan believes in giving back. In addition to being Chancellor at the University of Windsor he is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Global Risk Institute, a Senior Fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute, a Governor of the MS Society of Canada. He also serves on the Boards of OTT Pay and Element Finance. He is a past member of the Boards of The Churchill Society for the Advancement of Parliamentary Democracy, the MS Society’s Scientific Research Foundation, and the Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority, a Crown Corporation tasked with overseeing the construction of the new Gordie Howe International Bridge. Finally, he has served on a number of corporate boards including Travelers Canada where he served as Chair of the Audit Committee. Mr. Duncan has earned degrees from the University of Windsor in commerce and an MBA as well as an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree. He also has a B.A. from McGill University. A lifelong resident of Windsor he is an avid golfer and cyclist. He is the proud father of Sean Duncan.
