Regina Fire and Protective Services responded to several fires over Easter weekend, including a house fire that a cat was rescued from. On Friday night, crews contained a townhouse fire on the 600 block of Sangster Boulevard at 10:56 p.m. According to a Regina Fire social media post, the occupants were alerted by a smoke alarm and exited safely. The fire was contained to one unit and no injuries were reported. Regina Fire is investigating the cause. Crews responded to two more fires in North Central on Saturday afternoon. One was a house fire in the 600 block of Princess Street. “Heavy smoke and fire conditions on arrival. Fire quickly brought under control with all searches now complete,” Regina Fire wrote in a social media post. “No injuries reported with one cat rescued. Fire is under investigation.” Crews also put out a fire at a shed on the 1600 block of Garnet Street. “Fully involved shed fire found on arrival with extension to the adjacent house. Fire is under control with all searches complete,” read another post from Regina Fire. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
