The developer of a freshly-listed California mega-mansion is looking to redefine the U.S. luxury property market with a record-setting asking price for a home that can only be described as the combined fantasies of Richie Rich, Scarface, and several James Bond villains.

At 38,000 square feet, this four level estate features two master suites, 10 oversized VIP guest rooms, 21 baths, three gourmet kitchens, five bars, two commercial elevators, a fitness and wellness studio, and a 007-themed movie theatre with 40 seats. There’s also 17,000 square feet of “entertainment decks” outside, for all of your lounging needs.

The asking price is a whopping US$250 million, surpassing other ultra-high-end Los Angeles-area listings like the Playboy Mansion and the former Spelling Estate, both of which held $200 million price tags.

Real estate developer and handbag tycoon Bruce Makowsky designed the home “on spec”-- without a particular buyer in mind. He says his Bel Air masterpiece is meant to match the level of luxury usually reserved for mega-yachts and private jets.

“There are hundreds of new billionaires created each year and they are increasingly setting their sights on this coveted enclave of California for everything the state has to offer,” he said in a press release. “This home was curated for the ultimate billionaire who wants the best of everything that exists in life.”

Whoever Makowsky hands the keys to could throw one heck of a housewarming party.

The main outdoor deck features an 85-foot Italian glass infinity pool with a swim-up bar. Guests can enjoy a 270 degree view that spans the mountains, the L.A. skyline, and the ocean. If they get bored of that, a massive pop-up media screen can be raised into view for an in-pool movie screening. (Obviously, you’d choose Jaws.)

Other bespoke design touches include a massive “candy wall” in the games room that dispenses enough sweet confections to make Willy Wonka blush, a four-lane bowling alley, an expansive golf green to practice your putting, $30 million worth of vehicles ranging from 1930s roadsters to modern hyper-cars, two fully-stocked champagne/wine cellars, and “the most advanced home tech system in the world.”

Makowsky also factored in the price of seven live-in employees who will work at the property full time. He’s committed to paying their salaries for two years, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The styling isn’t what you would call subtle. Metallic crocodiles by the pool, a crocodile-embossed elevator, and a massive stainless steel Leica camera sculpture made by artist Liao Yibai (which appears to be the size of a hatchback), are among the “astonishing array of amenities and bespoke items from around the world” that have been incorporated into the home.

One piece that’s sure to get your guests attention is the Hermes-branded cut off power saw that is ominously placed on a counter top in one of the wine cellars.

Perhaps the only thing lacking at 924 Bel Air Road is ocean access. Curiously, that hasn’t deterred Makowsky from including a Hobie Cat sailboat on the deck, with nowhere to sail.

It’s also worth mentioning that the helicopter on the roof is said to be decommissioned.

But, with a house this impressive, where are you really going?
