BADGER, N.L. -- Police say the body of a woman missing since last weekend has been found in a lake in central Newfoundland.
The RCMP say divers found the body of 62-year-old Margaret McCarthy on Friday night in Paul's Lake, near the community of Badger.
Police say her remains have been taken to hospital for investigation.
A search began in the area when the woman was reported missing after being seen travelling by snowmobile on April 11.
In a statement issued Saturday, Staff Sgt. Boyd Merrill says local volunteers and a search and rescue crew assisted in the week-long search.
