Vehicle crashes into Winnipeg library

A Winnipeg library was damaged after a vehicle drove into it over the weekend.

According to the city, a vehicle collided with Louis Riel Library on Saturday, causing structural damage to the building.

An engineer inspected it and deemed it safe to remain open, a city spokesperson said.

However, the accessible washrooms were damaged and will be closed until repairs are done.

The spokesperson said alternate washrooms are available in the library for the public to use.

Meanwhile, Winnipeg police say they were not called to the incident.

CTV News Winnipeg has reached out to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service for details on the collision and is awaiting a response.
