No foul play in recycling depot body discovery: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police say there is no foul plays suspected after a body was found at a city recycling depot.

The Winnipeg Police Service says foul play was not involved in the death of a person whose body was found at a city recycling depot.

Winnipeg police said Friday an autopsy was conducted after the discovery of a body, believed to be an adult male, at a recycling depot on Mazenod Road in the St. Boniface Industrial Area Thursday morning.

The discovery prompted the suspension of recycling services for a day in Winnipeg.

“The findings have determined that no foul play was involved,” police said in a news release. “Investigators believe the deceased went into the bin to seek shelter.”

Police said the investigation is ongoing and added the homicide unit is working with the family.
