Gimli teen knitting toques to raise funds to help others internationally

A teenage boy from Gimli is knitting to raise funds to help give homes to people halfway across the world.

Cameron Lozinski, 16, has a goal of knitting 300 toques to sell this winter.

The Grade 11 student is using the money he raises to go halfway across the world on a humanitarian trip with Habitat for Humanity.

Previously, Lozinski has gone on humanitarian trips to El Salvador and Portugal with money he raised by selling his knit toques.

This year, Lozinski has already knit dozens of toques and hopes to go on a Habitat for Humanity trip to Africa with the money he raises.

Lozinski said one day he hopes to start his own charitable foundation.

The toques are $18 and are available at Sugar Me Cookie Boutique in Gimli.
