Colleen Bready’s Forecast: Mild temperatures continue in southern Manitoba

It’s not time to ditch the winter clothes just yet, but unseasonably mild weather continues Tuesday in Winnipeg and across southern Manitoba.

Like we saw Monday, expect minus single-digit temperatures, with a chance of light snow and a risk of freezing drizzle.

Freezing drizzle could cause slippery sidewalks, roads or highways.

Conditions over the border in northwestern Ontario are almost identical Tuesday, except the chance of snow is slightly higher.

Northern Manitoba will shine the brightest Tuesday, with many areas seeing sunshine of a mix of sun and cloud.

On the other hand, snow will clip the northwest around Brochet this afternoon and tonight. It will be a light dusting, with around 2 cm of snowfall expected.

As much as temperatures are already soaring well above normal for early January in the south, Wednesday will be the mildest day of the week. Daytime highs will come very close to the freezing mark in the sunshine.

Thursday and Friday will remain on the sunny side in Winnipeg, just a touch colder.

Expect a noticeable chilly dip in temperatures Saturday, before rebounding on Sunday and into early next week.
