13 new COVID-19 cases identified in Manitoba Wednesday

WINNIPEG — Manitoba health officials say 13 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the province on Wednesday.

The news was released in a bulletin Wednesday afternoon, bringing the total number of active cases in Manitoba to 454.

According to the province, one case previously identified on Aug. 30 was removed, as it was determined to be from outside of Manitoba. The total number of cases since March in Manitoba is 1,244.

The province said hospitalization information is delayed due to a technical issue and will be updated as soon as possible. There have been 14 deaths from COVID-19 in Manitoba.

TEST POSITIVITY RATE DROPS

The province said the current five-day test positivity rate is now 1.8 per cent, down from 2.2 per cent on Tuesday.

The positivity rate hit 3.1 per cent on August 26.

On Tuesday, 1,584 tests were completed in Manitoba, bringing the total number of lab tests completed since February to 139,643.

WHERE ARE THE MOST CASES OF COVID-19 IN MANITOBA

According to provincial data, the most active cases of COVID-19, continue to be found in the Prairie Mountain Health Region, with 249 total active cases as of Wednesday.

The Winnipeg Health Region has 153 active cases, while there are 43 active cases in the Southern Health Region and nine in the Interlake-Eastern region.
