WRH implements visitor restrictions due to measles

The Windsor Regional Hospital has put a new policy in place as measles spreads through the region. CTV Windsor’s Travis Fortnum has more.

Visitor restrictions are now in place at Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) due to an influx in measles cases. The restrictions are for any kids under the age of 16, meaning no kids under 16 are permitted to visit the hospital.

This will stay in place until further notice.

Anyone that has an appointment at the hospital and thinks they may have been exposed to measles in the past three weeks, is unvaccinated, has symptoms of measles, or has travelled outside of Canada in the past three weeks, you are asked to call 519-254-5577, dial 0 for switchboard, and speak to the department you are supposed to see. This should be done before your appointment day and time.

Anyone needing medical attention for the same reasons is asked to contact the hospital ahead of time and speak to the emergency department you are going to seek treatment from.

Before entering the hospital, wear a well fitted mask or ask security for one when you go in.
