Windsor celebrating National Nurses Week

Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare celebrated its nurses this week, handing out awards and highlighting their vital role in health care.

Windsor is coming together to celebrate National Nurses Week.

On Wednesday, several local nurses were honoured and recognized for their outstanding efforts with Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.

More than 40 per cent of WRH’s total workforce is nurses. At the ceremony, several awards were given, including the Lori Dupont Bursary and the Jeanne Mance Extraordinary Nursing Care Award.

At Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, President and CEO Bill Marra weighed in, recognizing the city’s nurses.

“We’re blessed with wonderful frontline people and our nurses,” he said. “We’re celebrating them.”

This year’s National Nurses Week theme is “the power of nurses to transform health.”
