Oxford OPP wearing body cameras

Oxford OPP is now wearing body cameras, like many forces in the area.

The OPP said this will allow better evidence to be collected, increase accountability and transparency, and enhance safety for both officers and the public.

This comes after Oxford OPP rolled out in car cameras.

The body-cameras will have a visible green ring with flashing lights when in standby mode and it will flash red when recording begins.

The full roll out of the cameras will take place as officers complete training.
