Over $11,000 donated to Downtown Mission by Caesars Windsor Cares

Caesars Windsor Cares has made a donation of $11,490 to The Downtown Mission, supporting its food bank.

According to a news release, the donation was possible through Caesar’s Windsor’s Fast Cash Ticket program, which was then matched by Caesars Windsor Cares.

The program lets casino users to put any unused slot tickets, of any value, into a donation box, supporting a specified non-profit organization.

“If anyone has driven past the Mission in recent weeks, you can see the need for food security,” said Rukshini Ponniah-Goulin, executive director of The Downtown Mission.

“Whether it’s community members and families queuing in front of our Food Bank, or people gathering for our mid-day community meal, you will witness that the need is real and increasing. We are thankful for the support of partners like Caesars Cares for sharing their compassion to feed the hungry in Windsor.”
