Olympic talent scouting event coming to Windsor

The search for new Olympic talent is coming to Windsor this weekend.

Scouts from 15 Team Canada sports will be on hand.

Local Olympians Brandon McBride and Kristen Bujnowski will also be on site offering mentorship.

The free event is open to athletes between 14 and 25 years of age.

They’ll go through tests for speed, endurance, power and strength.

The event runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Toldo Lancer Centre on College Avenue.

The best of the best will move on to the national qualifiers.

So far, 21 athletes have been discovered by RBC training ground — 12 of them are Olympic medalists.

Participants can register in advance, but event-day walk ups are also welcome.
