LaSalle police launching new community engagement initiative

The LaSalle Police Service is launching a new community initiative at the Vollmer Complex.

It runs every Monday from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

An officer will be stationed at the Community Information Booth for residents and community members to ask questions and engage with the officer.

“There’ll be a steady rotation of different officers each week and there’ll a wide-range of literature on various topics available, including hand-outs for children,” said police in a social media post.

Police said the booth is not to be used for reporting criminal allegations or anything that would require follow up or a potential investigation - these events are to be reported to officers at headquarters or by calling the non-emergency line.
