LaSalle earns 10th Distinguished Budget Award

The Town of LaSalle has been given the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the 10th year in a row.

This most recent award is for the 2025 budget.

“This continued recognition is a reflection of the hard work, attention to detail, and collaboration that go into producing a high-quality budget document year after year,” said Mayor Crystal Meloche.

“Kudos to our Finance Department for leading the charge, and to all departments for their contributions.”

Guidelines LaSalle met include budget presentation, which look at how the budget serves as a policy document, an operations guide, a financial plan, and a communications tool, according to a news release.

The budget must be deemed “proficient” in all four categories.

“Congratulations, Team LaSalle. This award is a significant achievement. Each department is responsible for providing information and budget recommendations that align with the Town’s Strategic Plan,” said Joe Milicia, CAO of LaSalle.

“What many might not realize is that the submission process comes with a rigorous review and evaluation, which over the years has yielded a high caliber document. WE continue to evolve the budget, making it a more prominent foundational document for our municipality while also increasing the value and understandability to our community.”
