Dog shot during active investigation: police

Windsor police say a dog was fatally shot by police during an active investigation.

Police responded to the 2800 block of Tecumseh Road West, near Huron Church Road, shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday for a report of a person in crisis.

Police say during the interaction between officers and individuals on scene, a dog was fatally shot by police.

One person is now in police custody, and no further injuries have been reported at this time.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
