Construction at Walker & Tecumseh nearly complete

Construction at Walker and Tecumseh should finish this month, but lane reductions will stay until July.

Construction around one of Windsor’s busiest intersections will likely finish by the end of the month, but the orange barrels won’t be leaving until July.

Lane reductions and detours at Walker Road and Tecumseh Road East have been in place since early March as ENWIN installs a new 1,200-meter long watermain.

The city’s Commissioner of Infrastructure Services David Simpson told council that the underground work is essentially done on Tecumseh Road, and crews are working to tie-in along the 2200 block of Turner Road.

Pressure testing, filling the line with potable water and chlorinating it is a work in progress before the intersection can completely reopen.
