Cars For A Cause charity event preview set for Tecumseh Mall

The love of cars and helping those in need is the aim of an upcoming car-lovers auto show.

It’s called Cars For A Cause – and the charity car show raised $42,000 dollars last year.

Founder and event organizer, Paul Sulja is passionate about cars. Moreover, Sulja is even more so about doing something to help those in need – to change lives for the better.

Sulja experienced a family tragedy with mental illness and wanted to do something positive out of a devastating situation. That’s the motive behind Cars For A Cause – enjoying fancy rides and raising money to help those in need in our community.

This year’s beneficiaries are the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and One Day Dreams – both are charity organizations in our community.

Oneday Dreams, helps terminally ill adults fulfill lifelong dreams, and the Windsor-Essex Canadian Mental Health Association, is a nationwide leader in mental health awareness, support, and advocacy.

On Thursday, at Tecumseh Mall it was setup time for a teaser of the event on Friday.

On Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., the mall grounds will have approximately 200 cars on-hand, including modified, exotic, custom build, rare supercars and motorcycles.

“Honestly this community, not just the car community, but the Windsor community has been phenomenal,” said Sulja. “They [Tecumseh Mall] were a little shocked when I proposed 59 cars, but once we walk them through it, honestly - Tecumseh Mall has been absolutely incredible and supportive and they jumped on board right away.”

The culmination of the series of events will be the big show that takes place Saturday, June 21 at the LaSalle Event Centre.
