Suspect in alleged voyeurism incident at park in New Westminster, B.C., sought by police

Police are seeking a suspect after a camera was found hidden in a men’s changing room in a park in New Westminster, B.C.

Police received a report that a camera had been located underneath a bench inside the Upper Hume Park public changing room, on East Columbia Street, on April 22, the New Westminster Police Department said in a statement.

Officers have since searched the rooms and seized the recording device.

“We understand how upsetting and disturbing this discovery is for park users,” said Sgt. Justine Thom.

“Our team is reviewing evidence and working to find who is responsible.”

The person responsible for hiding the camera is encouraged by police to turn themselves in. Anyone with information relevant to the incident is asked to contact the NWPD at 604-525-5411.
