Police find body of man missing since 2024 in trailer on Vancouver Island

The body of a man who has been missing for over a year was found while police were executing a drug-related search warrant at a mobile home on the Songhees Reserve last week, according to authorities.

The West Shore RCMP searched the trailer last Wednesday – issuing a statement informing the public about a large police presence in the area, including officers from the heavily armed emergency response unit.

“The original search warrant was in relation to drug trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. However, the discovery of human remains lead police to execute an additional search warrant on the same property,” an update from the detachment Tuesday said.

The deceased has since been identified as Kielan Hall, according to police, who offered their condolences to the man’s loved ones.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit has taken over the case and Mounties said they will not be providing any additional information at this time.

Hall was last seen on the morning of March 14, 2024, leaving a home on the border of the reserve according to an appeal for help finding the missing man last year issued by the Saanich Police Department.

“We want to thank those who have come forward to report sightings of Kielan. We continue to investigate those tips, but currently, none have led to us locating him,” that statement said.
