QUEBEC - One of two Quebec university students found dead in a Bolivia hotel room apparently felt uncomfortable in the room.

Andreanne Lacroix-Pelletier and Anne Christelle Dube-Marquis, both 21, were found dead early Monday by friends at a tourist station in Uyuni, Bolivia.

It's believed the propane gas heater in the room was defective and that they died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

University of Laval spokesman Richard Poulin says one of the women told her father in a phone call a few hours before the tragedy that she felt uncomfortable in the room.

The two were on an exchange program at the University of Cordoba in Argentina and were vacationing in Bolivia with friends at the time.

Poulin says an autopsy is being performed in Bolivia to confirm the cause of death and arrangements are being also being made with the Foreign Affairs to return their bodies home.
