Ontario government to fund $100M for neuroscience research

Extended: New funding for brain institute After touring the SickKids hospital, Ontario Premier Wynne announces $100M in funding over five years to the Ontario Brain Institute.

TORONTO - Premier Kathleen Wynne says Ontario will give $100 million over five years to the Ontario Brain Institute.

She says the money will be used for neuroscience research.

That includes research on Alzheimer's disease and depression, as well as cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy.

Wynne says she knows the province is facing a $12-billion deficit, but they can't afford to wait.
