Body found on school property in Ajax

Police are investigating after a body was found on school property in Ajax on Thursday morning.

A passerby found the body of an adult male near the baseball diamond on the Lester B Pearson Public School grounds, located at 21 Coughlen St., near Carrick Avenue.

The body was found at approximately 7:45 a.m.

Durham Regional Police said the cause of death has not yet been determined, but detectives are investigating the school grounds.

The school has not been closed for the day, as police say there are no safety concerns for staff or students.
