HALIFAX - An Armed Forces Cormorant helicopter was dispatched Thursday night to rescue three people trapped in their home by flood waters near Bathurst, N.B.

Capt. John Harrison with Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax says the Greenwood-based helicopter was able to pick up the stranded trio without incident.

They were trapped after an ice jam caused waters to rise around their home on the Middle River.

Harrison says all three were flown to the Bathurst airport.
