December is one of the best times of the year to go tech shopping if you're looking to save money. However, with so many products on the market, it can take a lot of work to sort through them all!
We've rounded up a variety of deals, so whether you're looking for a new pair of headphones, a computer mouse, or a Bluetooth speaker, you'll find great products with lower price tags.
If you're shopping for high-end TVs, check out the Samsung S90C. This versatile and well-rounded 4k TV has a QD-OLED panel, ensuring fantastic picture quality for streaming your favourite content in HDR. It delivers bright, vivid color and a nearly infinite contrast ratio for deep, inky blacks when viewed in a dark room. Sports like hockey also look great on this TV, thanks to its incredible response time, so quick-moving players look crisp and sharp. It also has many extra features like Samsung's Bixby and Amazon's Alexa voice assistants for hands-free control. Gamers can take advantage of its 4k @ 144Hz support on all four HDMI ports and its full VRR support.
A soundbar can offer a step up from your TV's built-in speakers. If you want to keep things relatively simple, the Bose Smart Soundbar is well-rounded and versatile. Since it supports a variety of wireless playback options, you can easily stream your favourite media to the bar. It also supports Dolby Atmos and offers a quite impressive performance for a standalone bar. It's great for movies as race scenes feel like cars are passing around you while helicopters sound as if they're flying overhead.
Its ADAPTiQ room correction feature lets the bar adjust its sound to suit your room's unique acoustic characteristics. While it lacks a rumbly low-bass, it has extra punch and warmth to add high-bass to your mixes. TV show and movie dialogue also sounds clear and easy to follow. There are only bass and treble adjustments for customization, though, and while the soundstage feels wide, it's a little unnatural. Sound effects like voices seem to be placed in a general area rather than as if coming from a pinpoint location.
Want to listen to audio in peace? You don't want to skip past the Bose QuietComfort 45/QC45 Wireless. These premium over-ears have some of the best active noise cancelling technology on the market. They offer excellent performance, especially now at their more wallet-friendly price point. They can easily reduce the rumble of plane engines during long flights and tackle everyday office chit-chat. They also last over 21 hours continuously with their ANC on!
Their neutral sound will please most listeners, but if you want to change it up, their companion app offers a graphic EQ and presets for adjustments. They have a very comfortable fit, too, so you can wear them for long listening sessions without an issue, and they come with extra features like multi-device pairing and analog support. Their mic could be better, though, so if you need to make important calls, it's best to do so from a quiet place.
If you want to share your audio with others, try the JBL Boombox 3. This powerful Bluetooth speaker is somewhat large, but it's worth checking out if you're looking for good sound. Its rotund design packs rumbly low-bass and can get loud, making it an ideal choice for parties. At the same time, it sounds well-rounded and balanced enough so that vocals and instruments are clear and accurate. You can adjust its sound using the companion app's graphic EQ too.
Since it has a handle integrated into its design, you can easily carry it from one place to the next. It's certified IP67 for dust and water resistance, so you can use it outdoors without worrying about the weather raining on your parade. This stereo speaker can also continuously play audio for almost 30 hours. It has a power-saving mode to help conserve battery life if you forget to turn it off.
Wireless mice like the Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro are a good addition to a home setup if you want to cut the cord on unsightly cables and clutter. It's comfortable to use; its right-hand design is slightly curved, with thumb buttons on its left side. Unfortunately, this doesn't make it ambidextrous, so if you're left-hand, this mouse may not be for you. It's also on the larger side, so if you have small hands, it may be a bit unwieldy and tricky for you to reach the side buttons. That said, you'll be able to program each button to fit your needs, and it's also compatible with Razer's Hypershift feature, so you can access an additional set of controls by holding down the dedicated Hypershift button.
Even though it's a somewhat older product, this well-built mouse is intended for gaming as it's fairly lightweight, and its feet offer a smooth glide so you can react quickly and precisely to enemies on the battlefield. It can connect with up to two devices simultaneously, which is handy if you want to multitask. While the mouse is fully compatible with Windows and macOS, you won't be able to take advantage of configuration features found in Razer Synapse 3, which is only compatible with Windows.
If you don't need a numpad for day-to-day data crunching, then the Logitech G915 Lightspeed is worth checking out. This low-profile gaming keyboard has many extra features, such as dedicated media controls, a column for macro keys, and customizable RGB backlighting. It's also compatible with Logitech G Hub software for robust re-configuration to suit your needs, such as reprogramming your macro keys and saving up to three profiles directly to the keyboard. The keys have low click latency, so it's more than suitable for casual or competitive gaming.
Even though it doesn't come with a wrist rest, the keyboard is still low enough that it's comfortable to use as you don't need to significantly angle your hands to reach the keys. Your palms can also easily and naturally rest on your desk or table. Additionally, the keys are light to press, helping to keep typing fatigue at bay. You can use this keyboard via Bluetooth, or if you're looking for the best performance, you'll want to use the USB receiver. If you're down on battery life, you can also use this keyboard while charging, but Logitech advertises that it has up to 30 hours of continuous battery life, so you won't need to replenish it often.
Cordless vacuums like the Dyson V15 Detect are a great option if you're looking for a lighter, more portable vacuum. This stick vacuum can automatically adjust its suction power to the surface you're cleaning, resulting in a fantastic overall performance, whether you're tackling cookie crumbs or dust. Its dirt sensor also measures and counts the size of debris picked up, so you can check allergen levels while you clean, which is especially handy if you have pets. It has a HEPA filter for trapping in those fine particles, too.
This stick vacuum can run continuously for more than 70 minutes when used in its most energy-efficient configurations. However, if you're working with stubborn messes and use its 'Boost' suction mode, battery life drops to under 10 minutes, so you'll need to be quick if you want to use this setting.
There are many good deals this holiday season, but it can be difficult to weed through them. How do you know if a product's performance is good? Is it reliable or durable? Our picks represent some of the best deals out there, so if you've been putting off purchasing high-end electronics like headphones or TVs due to their price tags, then it's a good time to check out what's available.
