Finding the right boots for winter weather is no joke — especially when you’re six months pregnant. In general, I find it pretty hard to find the perfect pair of boots. Whenever I’m online shopping, I can easily track down a pair of booties or sneakers, but winter boots are a whole other ball game. Even if you can miraculously locate a cute pair, they’re either in the wrong size, have a heel that is far too high for winters in the city, or reviewers complain that they aren’t very warm.
This year, I wanted to find the perfect pair of winter boots that wouldn’t be too much of a hassle to throw on with my growing belly. As a first-time mom-to-be, I had a long list of criteria I wanted to meet: I was looking for slip-on boots I could wear on dog walks, they had to be warm and tall enough to cover the ends of my maternity pants (but not too tall that I would have any outfit challenges if I wanted to wear these boots to work), and they had to be comfortable above all else.
In one of my late-night scrolls on Amazon, I was pleasantly surprised to find a boot that addressed all of my concerns! Enter the boots that may have solved all of my winter-wear needs.
I’m obsessed with these lightweight and cozy winter boots. I originally was looking for boots similar to Uggs when I started my boot hunt, but soon realized those wouldn’t be a great weatherproof option. One of my favourite features about these Dream Pairs boots is that they’re made with waterproof fabric to keep your feet snug and dry during those sporadic weather winter days. The faux fur lining also makes a huge difference when there’s a chill in the air, so on the comfort scale, I’d grade them a 10/10.
A feature that I wasn’t looking for (but love) is the adjustable drawstring at the top to keep your feet extra warm and also ensure that the snow stays out of your boots. There’s nothing worse than taking a few steps into the snow, only to realize that the snow is going to come home with you.
Some additional perks for me as a pregnant woman: they are super easy to quickly slide on and they have a slip-resistant sole. When my dog needs to be taken out, he’s in a huge rush to get out the door. Since I can pull these on easily, it cuts down a lot of the time it takes me to get out of the house. As he’s running to meet the great outdoors, these anti-skid boots are perfect to ensure that I don’t take a spill. In fact, the traction on these boots is so great, I don’t think I’ll be taking a fall any time soon (fingers crossed). Even though these soles have a lot of traction, they’re still super lightweight, so I don’t feel like I’m lugging around even more additional weight.
I’ve been wearing these boots on a daily basis at the office and to walk my dog. So far, I have to say that I love them. The fact that they’re super warm, a cinch to throw on, and unbelievably comfortable is definitely going to make them a staple in my winter wardrobe.
