Two dead after fiery highway crash near Balcarres

CTV Regina: Head-on collision The drivers of two vehicles were killed in a head-on collision that resulted in both vehicles becoming engulfed in flames.

Two males are dead after a fiery head-on highway crash early Monday.

The drivers of both vehicles died after a collision on Highway 10, about 10 kilometres east of Balcarres, RCMP said in a news release.

Both vehicles caught on fire after the crash, which happened at approximately 5 a.m. Monday. Fire departments from Balcarres and Fort Qu’Appelle attended the scene.

Initially, RCMP were able to identify the gender of the victims but later said that it was two males who had died in the crash.

The bodies have been removed and taken to the coroner’s office in Regina for identification.

The cause of the crash is not known and RCMP are continuing the investigation.
