PELLY, Sask. - Police used a Taser on a man holding four people hostages in east central Saskatchewan.

It began about 10 a.m. Wednesday on a farm about 10 kilometres north of Pelly. RCMP got a report of a 52-year-old man holding a knife to someone's throat. There were also reports there were three other hostages.

When police arrived, they found the suspect holding the knife to his own throat.

After two hours of negotiations, the man lowered the knife and police Tasered him and took him into custody.

Police seized several guns from the home and charges are pending.
