Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Barack Obama both shared part of Halloween this year with a pint-sized prince, in two adorable encounters posted online.

For Trudeau, his "princely" encounter was with his two-year-old son, Hadrien, who dressed as the titular character from the children's book "Le Petit Prince." The prime minister was dressed in desert gear as the pilot character from the same book.

The Trudeau family shared photos of their getups online: Xavier, 9, dressed as the Joker, while seven-year-old Ella-Grace dressed as a witch. Sophie Gregoire Trudeau's costume appeared to be that of an aristocratic lady from the Old West, although she didn't specify on Facebook what exactly she was going for.

Last year, Trudeau dressed as Han Solo and Sophie as Princess Leia from "Star Wars," ahead of the release of "The Force Awakens."

Obama and 'Purple Rain'

In the United States, Barack and Michelle Obama handed out candy to an organized stream of children outside the White House. Among the costumed visitors was a lame duck and a mini Obama.

Obama himself was particularly excited to see a trick-or-treater dressed as a little version of Prince. "Hey Prince! What's going on man?" he called out, before singing: "Purple rain, purple rain."

Obama also kinda-sorta joined the children in dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Wearing dad jeans and a sweater, Obama awkwardly busted a few dance moves during the song.

If you have 51 minutes to spare, you can watch the Obamas hand out Halloween candy on YouTube.
