Patrick Rail joined the CTV News’ national digital team in 2017 and has covered multiple elections, federal budgets and the 2018 Olympics. Based out of Toronto, Ont., he specializes in topics focused on Canadian politics and early 20th century Canadian history. He also has a general interest in subjects involving the environment, sustainable food practices and budget travelling.
Patrick has a bachelor's degree in History and Sociology from the University of Ottawa as well as a diploma in journalism from Centennial College. Prior to CTV News, Patrick worked on the business desk at the CBC and with the digital desk at The Canadian Press. Patrick is an experienced cook and has spent time backpacking across Australia, where he discovered a love for scuba diving.
