Police look to speak to couple who found unconscious e-bike rider in Ottawa’s east end

The Ottawa Police Service is looking to speak with an elderly couple who called 9-1-1 to report an e-bike accident in the city’s east end last month.

On April 24, a man was found unconscious with serious injuries on the bicycle path in the area of the Sir George Etienne Parkway and Highway 174, according to police.

Police say a couple discovered the man on the pathway and called 9-1-1 using the victim’s phone. Since the incident, police have been unable to identify or contract the couple to get more information for the investigation.

“First and foremost, we want to sincerely thank the couple for their quick response and for providing assistance at the scene. Thanks to their actions, the man received medical care promptly and is now recovering at home,” police said.

“Police would now like to speak with the individuals who made the call to gather additional information for the investigation.”
