Ottawa police appeal for information in 2024 fatal shooting of Quentin Dorsainvil

One year after 17-year-old Quentin Dorsainvil was fatally shot in Ottawa’s Centretown neighbourhood, police are issuing an appeal for information in connection to the homicide.

Dorsainvil died after being shot at the intersection of Nepean Street and Percy Street at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2024.

The shooting occurred after Dorsainvil left a concert at the Bronson Centre, according to police.

The Ottawa Police Service said investigators do not believe Dorsainvil was the intended target.

On Tuesday, police released an image of a woman investigators with the Homicide Unit want to speak with, saying she may have information relevant to the investigation.

On Wednesday, police said the person had been identified and requested that the individual’s photo be removed from news websites.

Police say there have been no arrests in connection to the fatal shooting.

Dorsainvil was a lineman for the Kanata Knights Football Club and the Cumberland Panthers. He moved to Florida after the 2023 season to pursue football in the United States.
