OPP say truck stolen from Whitewater Region driveway found

Ontario Provincial Police say a pickup truck that was stolen out of its owner’s driveway overnight in Whitewater Region has been found.

An investigation into the theft continues.

Police said the truck, a 1998 Ford F150, was stolen Thursday evening from a home on Beachburg Road.

On Monday, OPP said the vehicle had been located on Sunday. No arrests or charges have been announced.

Vehicle thefts, overall, fell in Ontario in 2024. The number of incidents fell from around 30,000 in 2023 to around 25,000 in 2024. That was still higher than any other province in Canada.

The Ontario government recently announced legislation that would give police the authority to seize electronic devices that are intended to be used for vehicle theft.
