North Glengarry man charged with arson following eastern Ontario house fire

A 34-year-old man is facing charges in connection to a suspicious fire at a home in the village of Elgin, Ont.

Emergency crews responded to a call for a fire in an uninhabited home in the village southwest of Smiths Falls last Saturday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police say as a result of the investigation, a North Glengarry man is facing charges of arson – damage to property, breaking and entering, and theft under $5,000.

The accused has been remanded into custody.
