Man killed in crash near Belleville was from Montreal: Police

BELLEVILLE, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police have released the name of the man who was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 37 late Wednesday near Corbyville, just north of Belleville.

Central Hastings OPP say a southbound van crossed the centre line and struck a northbound pickup truck.

The driver of the van, 55-year-old Ernest Longpre of Montreal, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five other people in his vehicle were injured, including one who was airlifted to an Ottawa hospital with severe injuries.

Police are still investigating the cause of collision.
