Man driving son’s car stopped for stunt driving on Ottawa road

A 65-year-old man is facing a stunt driving charge after being stopped for speeding in his son’s car in Ottawa, according to police.

The Ottawa Police Service’s Traffic Escort and Enforcement Unit stopped three drivers for speeding in Ottawa on Wednesday.

Police say a man was observed speeding 123 kilometres an hour in a 60 kilometres an hour zone in the area of Leitrim Road and Ramsayville Road.

“A 65-year-old lost his son’s car,” police said on X.

A 21-year-old driving dad’s car was stopped for speeding 73 km/h over the limit, according to police. Police say an officer observed the driver going 153 km/h in the area of Leitrim Road and Limebank Road. The speed limit is 80 km/h in that area.

And police say a 21-year-old driving mom’s car was stopped speeding 120 km/h in a 60 km/h zone in the area of Riverside Drive and Revelstoke Drive.

The charge of stunt driving includes a 30-day licence suspension and the vehicle is impounded for 14 days.
