Timmins police say shots fired on Mountjoy Street was an isolated incident

Police in Timmins said they responded to reports of a shooting Tuesday in the area of Mountjoy Street. No one was hurt and it was an isolated incident.

Police in Timmins have released more details about a shooting incident they investigated this week on Mountjoy Street.

A report came in around 4:26 a.m. about multiple shots fired, police said in a news release Wednesday.

The call was “regarding gunshots heard in the area of Mountjoy Street, between Third Avenue and Algonquin Boulevard,” police said.

“Officers quickly secured the area to ensure public safety and a K-9 unit was deployed to assist in the investigation. There are no reported injuries and this was an isolated incident.”
