Third arrest made in Elliot Lake stabbing

Three male suspects have been charged with aggravated assault after an alleged altercation escalated to a stabbing in Elliot Lake.

A third person is charged with aggravated assault after a man was found in a wooded area of Elliot Lake with stab wounds.

“An altercation took place at a Tokyo Crescent residence between numerous people, which later resulted in one of the males being assaulted with a knife,” Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Sunday.

Officers were called to help paramedics around 7:30 p.m. May 9 after the victim was found in the bush between Tokyo Crescent and Paris Drive, police said.

The man was taken to hospital and remains in stable condition.

Two local men, ages 34 and 35 with the same last name, were both charged with aggravated assault Sunday.

The third suspect, another 35-year-old man, was charged Monday.

The first two accused were scheduled to appear in bail court in Blind River on May 12, while the third suspect is scheduled for a bail hearing Tuesday.

“Police are looking to speak with the female who attended a residence on Tokyo Crescent to call 911,” OPP said.

“Please attend the Elliot Lake OPP detachment or call 1-888-310-1122.”
