Suspected North Bay dealer charged, $84K in drugs seized

39-year-old North Bay man faces drug charges after police seized $82K in fentanyl, cocaine, meth and pills in trafficking probe.

North Bay police arrested a suspected local drug dealer and seized more than $82,000 in illicit substances last week after a several months-long investigation.

The street crime unit began investigating the 39-year-old suspect in the winter of 2024, North Bay Police Service said in a news release Wednesday morning.

He was seen around 1:20 p.m. May 9 leaving his Birchs Road home and entering his vehicle briefly before walking to the Lakeshore Drive intersection.

There, police said officers observed a drug deal going down.

“Both parties were arrested by officers at the same time,” police said.

“Drugs and a small amount of cash were seized as part of the arrest.”

During a search of the suspected dealer’s home and vehicle, officers seized 113.9 grams of fentanyl, 486.3 grams of cocaine, 0.4 grams of methamphetamine, 2.5 eight-milligram Dilaudid (brand name hydromorphone) pills and 44 one-milligram Hydromorphone pills.

The approximate street value of the drugs is $82,770, police said.

The suspected dealer remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
