Sault authorities seek suspect in vehicle theft

Sault police and Crime Stoppers ask for help identifying a suspect in the theft of $500 in tools from a parked vehicle on Trunk Road on June 11, 2025.

Sault police are investigating an incident of vehicle theft on Trunk Road earlier this month.

According to police, a man “entered” the vehicle on June 11 by “smashing a window.”

“(The) unidentified male was caught on video surveillance exiting the vehicle,” said officials with Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District in a news release.

Authorities said $500 worth of tools were stolen.

With portions of the incident captured on video surveillance, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and Crime Stoppers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the man.

“Do you recognize this individual,” asked Kendra Addison, the Sault Ste. Marie coordinator for Crime Stoppers, in a related online video.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Sault police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
