Responding to a complaint from the public, Ontario Provincial Police arrested a suspect for impaired driving who was behind the wheel of a logging truck in Hearst.

A few days later, the same person was arrested again for impaired while driving a motorcycle.

The first arrest took place July 3 when a member of the public alerted police about a commercial motor vehicle driver who seemed to be impaired.

Ontario Provincial Police stopped the logging truck and arrested the 41-year-old driver from Jogues, Ont. Charges included drug possession and impaired driving.

The tractor-trailer was impounded and the suspect’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

“Three days later, the same driver was stopped on a motorcycle, and arrested for driving under suspension and drug possession,” police said in a social media post.

“The OPP relies on the public to report crime. Impaired driving is a crime that should be treated no differently.”
