North Bay police seek help to identify construction site thief

The North Bay Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who stole equipment from a construction site earlier this week.

The theft occurred around 12:30 a.m. on May 14 in the McLaren Street area. Police say the suspect entered the site, tampered with equipment, and stole items before leaving on a bicycle.

“The suspect was caught on CCTV cameras in the area, and police are now looking for help from the public in identifying the male,” North Bay police said in a news release.

The individual was described as wearing a light-coloured jacket with reflective stripes and shoulder markings, dark pants, light-coloured Under Armour high-top shoes, and a hat with light-coloured stripes. The suspect’s bicycle had distinctive light-coloured tires with a dark pattern.

Anyone with information related to the identification or location of the suspect is asked to contact the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Investigators are also looking for surveillance or dash camera footage from around the area at the time of the theft.
