New Brunswick resident killed in northern Ont. highway crash

A 72-year-old resident of New Brunswick was killed in a single-vehicle crash July 9 on Highway 11 north of North Bay, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police responded shortly before 6 p.m. after receiving several calls about a collision near Bidwell Road near Marten River.

“The Nipissing District EMS and Marten River fire department attended the scene,” police said in a news release Wednesday.

“The lone driver, a 72-year-old, from Trout Brook, New Brunswick, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.”

The highway was closed while OPP investigated the scene but is now open.

Motorists can obtain road conditions by calling 511 or visiting the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario website.
