Almaguin Highlands man charged with possession of child pornography

A 26-year-old man from the Almaguin Highlands region has been charged with possession of child pornography following an Ontario Provincial Police investigation.

On May 6, the child sexual exploitation unit of the OPP, with assistance from the digital forensics unit, executed a search warrant in connection with the case.

The accused faces two counts of possession of child pornography and is scheduled to appear in court in Sundridge on June 12.

“If you have information about this investigation or about internet child sexual abuse and exploitation material, contact your police service of jurisdiction,” OPP said in a news release.

“If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers.”
